Description
10/9/24 – This is an original WW1 Prussian Officer Dress Belt & Buckle. The buckle is 2 piece brass construction (nonmagnetic) with a centrally affixed “W” and crown logo. The gold gilded finish has mostly worn off, and natural surface patina is evident throughout. The laurel leaf wreath still shows great detail and overall the buckle is in great shape. The reverse shows considerably more gold-gilded finish and the original fastening prongs still intact. The brocade belt is in great condition. Natural surface age and darkening visible throughout the exterior. Only a few minor areas of fraying along the top and bottom of the silver wire threading. Dark blue felt interior has a few small moth holes. Original leather adjustment tongue still present and in great condition. The belt also has both original secure / fastening loops intact as well. Overall a great example with some honest wear due to age.
