Description
3/28/23 – This is an American Schuetzen rifle in very nice condition, manufactured in the late 1860’s. There is not much actual finish loss, but there is noticeable brown patina and pin-pricking throughout. Spotty oxidation on the lock. Some minor dings on the trigger guard, butt plate, and the front stock cap. The barrel is stamped “F. NESTLE BALTO. MD.” on the top flat. The wood Schuetzen-style stock is in excellent condition, with just a few minor imperfections. Made with shaped checkered panels on each side of the wrist, and a large relief target cheek piece. Excellent shiny bore with above average rifling intact. Easily adjustable rear peep sight. Antique, so no licensing required. All mechanics seem sound.
