10/28/24 – For sale is a C96 that was converted into a carbine sometime in the past. The finish on the metal is thin throughout.The pistol has matching serial numbers stamped on the receiver and the pistol grip. The bore is bright with great rifling. We believe this is a fantasy piece as the serial numbers do not match up with the known database of C96 Carbines. The serial numbers do not match between the frame, barrel, and inner parts. The forestock and stock are custom-made pieces for this carbine. The number “1081” is stamped into the bottom of the stock and the number is also written in pencil within the forestock and stock. This number matches the number for the barrel.
