10/17/24 – This is a good example of a rare double decal tropical Luftwaffe helmet from WW2 made by Quist. The tropical helmets were issued to those Luftwaffe personnel in tropical theaters of war such as southern Italy, Crete and North Africa. Tropical items are highly sought after due to the potential association with the North African campaign. This helmet maintains a very good amount of its original tropical paint. There is paint loss from age and wear throughout the helmet. But the decals on both sides are very much still recognizable and visible.The body of this helmet has no dents. The helmet also has it’s original leather interior and chin strap. The leather interior is intact, but does have leather damage and tears along the sweat band portion.
