10/31/17 – This is a rare variation Luger holster made with pigskin leather. These holsters are often paired/seen with Black Widow Lugers, but it’s only speculation that they were often issued this way. This holster is correct for a black widow though, given the black leather and “42” date stamp on the back leather. The back leather is also P.08 stamped and “erg” stamped. I can’t find a waffen proof although there could be one within the poc marks of the pigskin leather. The leather is worn and shows signs of signifcant use – which makes it a cool piece of history. The leather is completely in tact though with nice shape and excellent stitching. The closure strap has a surface crack that doesn’t go very deep but is notable. Guaranteed original.
