10/9/24 – This is a great example of a WW2 M40 Double Decal Field Police Helmet made by Quist. This helmet is in overall great condition. There are some areas where there are scratches through the helmets paint. But these scratches in no way effect the integrity and function of the helmet. The emblems on both sides of the helmet are in great condition with only minor loss to the decals. The helmet still has what appears to be it’s original leather liner which is also in great condition. The liner has the letters “F.T.” written on it. The liner does have it’s tension cord still intact. This helmet is missing its chin strap. The interior of the helmet is maker stamped “Q64”, for its maker, Quist, and it is size 64. There is an additional lot number stamped under this, but it is a light stamping.
