Description
10/9/24 – This is an original WW1 German M1917 Stahlhelm shell. The shell includes an original metal liner band as well, but no internal leather liner pads are present. The shell is in great condition with original camouflage painted exterior. There’s typical surface patina throughout the shell, with a few small areas of paint loss mostly near the crown. The painted finish is faded and aged but still clearly camo and original. The interior crown shows surface rust and typical age. There’s a lot number stamped in the interior crown metal, but only “30” is visible. The interior left ear side of the helmet is maker and size stamped “ET 64”. Both chinstrap lugs are present. Two of the metal liner band rivets are missing, but one is intact and original. A great display example or could benefit from some TLC.
