Description
7/25/19 – This is an original leather strap for a K98 rifle manufactured late in WWII. Maker¬stamped “cgu” and “4”¬on the rear of the keeper stud. Ink stamped “kar” on the rear of the sling.¬This is short for “Karabinerriemen”, and presumably put on to differentiate it from the “MP38 u. 40” sling which was slightly different.¬The leather is excellent and completely in tact with no notable flaws. The interesting feature of this sling is the surface is not the typical herringbone pattern, but sort of a elongated pebble grain. The buckle is maker stamped “L&F”.¬The stitching is all original as well without issues. Guaranteed original.¬
