Description
11/19/24 – This is a very nice example of a Mauser Gewehr 89 issued to the Imperial German military in 1914. It is mostly matching, but the bolt and floor plate are mismatched. No import marks. The metal parts have lost virtually all of their finish with light spotty patina throughout. The wood stock is matching-numbered (very faint) and has Imperial proofs on the right side of the butt stock. There are noticeable dings and bruises throughout with a chip in the upper handguard and a crack, all around the rear barrel band. The bore has good rifling with some minor frosting in the grooves. It comes with a leather sling and a muzzle cap.
