The G36 platform is famous the world over for it’s user-friendly interface, rugged reliability but probably most of all for it’s space age aesthetic which makes it stand out in even the most modern theatres of warfare. The good folk of America wanted to get their hands on the G36 platform and so the SL8 was made; a civilian-legal hunting rifle with the base rifle of the G36 family.

This replica comes to a whopping 4kg which, if the pictures don’t do it justice, should help put into perspective just how massive this thing is! Most of the weight comes from the really nice high density Polymer that has been used for the stock, which is not only very tough but feels great to the touch. The rest of the weight can safely be blamed on the monstrous 20mm railed handguard which is made entirely from Alloy, comes included with rail covers and bipod pre-attached, and is ready for any extra accessories that you can throw at it. The outer barrel assembly is Alloy (as you would imagine) which keeps the rifle structurally solid, and extends beyond the handguard by ten inches, lending to the hunting rifle style and giving you plenty of inner barrel to play with. Thepièce de résistance of the replica is the thumbhole stock which is the signature of the SL8 series, designed to keep overall length down whilst still being Firearms Legislation Compliant. The cheek pad attached to the stock is adjustable for shooter comfort, and can be set to the right height to minimise the effects of parallax when looking through your sight.

This replica is completely ambidextrous, as the charging handle, magazine release and fire selector are all accessible from both sides, making this an excellent choice for left handed and ambidextrous shooters. The included bipod and scope can be put to immediate use if you plan on holding back and sniping with it; the 3-9x40mm scope being very useful for spotting targets you may have otherwise missed, and the bipod perfect for getting both a steady aim and a comfortable shooting position. Should you not want to use the included scope, the top carry handle is 20mm railed, allowing you to install whatever you like up there. A 14mm CCW thread at the end of the barrel allows you attach all manner of muzzle devices such as suppressors and tracer units.A rotary style HOP adjustment wheel can be found inside the dust cover when the mock charging handle is pulled to the rear.

Included in the box is an 8.4v 1100mAH NiMH battery and EU 2 Pin style charger, which should work absolutely fine but should be treated as free gifts. We strongly recommend treating yourself to an aftermarket battery and charger set up. Also included is a 20rnd low cap magazine, telescopic sight and mounts, bipod, rail covers and stock extension pads.
