Description
10/15/24 – This is a very nice example of a 1944 Dual Tone P.38 with a blued barrel and a phosphate finish on the slide and frame. It is in the “c” block which is correct according to the research books. The black Mauser style grips are proper for 1944 production. The Mauser magazine isWaffen Eagle/135 proofed. Its original finish rates about 96%. While there is very little finish loss, there is some discoloration and oxidation on the phosphate parts (typical). It is most noticeable on the left side of the slide and on the front strap. The bore has great rifling, but there is some light freckling in the grooves. De-cocker is functional.
