Description
5/11/23 – This is a scarce Burnside 4th Model Carbine manufactured in 1862. Only about 7,000 of these made. This one is matching and in fair condition overall. There is no major damage to the metal, but there is obvious spotty oxidation and “attic patina” on the whole gun. The wood furniture is nice, but there are dings and scratches here and there. Most of the wear can be seen on the handguard. The bore has good rifling, but there are some spots of pin-pricking, mainly around the muzzle end.
