10/8/24 – his pistol has an interesting history. It was initially issued to the Nazi military in 1937. It has the proper “Eagle 63” military proofs. These are often known as “VoPo” Lugers for Volkspolizei Äì the ÄúPeopleÄôs PoliceÄù,issued to the East German police after WW2 when the Soviets took control. The gun is all matching except for the rear toggle pin and has a “Russian X” on the left side of the slide. At the police arsenal, the gun was refinished and given a set of VoPo “bullseye” grips. Virtually no finish loss. Comes with a matching-numbered post-war magazine – likely done at the police arsenal. The bore has pretty good rifling, but there is minor pitting in the grooves.
